Job Description:
What you will deliver
1. Lab operation safety management
a) Establish Lab operation safety management procedures
b) Supervise and drive safety management procedure implementation during daily operation
c) Monitor Lab safety performance and continually review and improve Lab safety management procedures
2. Drive, lead and establish plant QC procedures, and supervising implementation
a) Establish QC procedures basing on BP lubricants quality manual and lubricant GSC quality standard
b) Supervise and drive QC procedures implementation
c) Monitor internal and external quality performance and continually review and improve QC procedures.
3. Drive and lead Lab QC test/equipment work instructions & calibration plan development and implementation
a) Establish mandatory QC test methods & test record form for each raw material and each product basing on Fusion raw material specification, product specification and China lubricant GB.
b) Supervise and drive Lab staff to strictly follow up work instruction during daily operation process, whilst keep test records to ensure traceability.
c) Establish and implement Lab equipment calibration plan, monitor Lab equipment performance, and maintain reliability.
4. Drive and lead Plant formulation and enterprise standard maintenance.
a) Establish Plant formulation maintenance procedure and supervise the implementation.
b) Drive team to work with other functional teams for new products and projects to maintain Plant formulation.
c) Support GLT for enterprise standard review and maintain it on public enterprise standard website.
5. Drive and lead packaging quality control and implementation
a) Establish packaging quality inspection procedure and supervise the implementation.
b) Packaging supplier quality control and on-site monitoring.
c) Work with MKT and Procurement for artwork development and launch.
6. Lead or support customer feedback/compliant disposal and management
a) Support customer feedback/complaint disposal and lead RCA investigation and action implementation.
b) Be on customer site for quality issue communication and disposal.
7. Drive, lead or support plant operation efficiencies and cost competitiveness.
a) Set up Lab efficiency & cost saving targets, lead, supervise and drive Lab staff to achieve them.
b) Actively engage GLT to support SLOB inventory, shelf life extension, proper waiver, supplier quality stability, etc, to support end to end cost competitiveness.
c) Provide QC SME expertise to support production process optimization.
8. Lead and drive quality risk management
a) As plant SPA for new product introduction process, lead and work with internal plant departments to mitigate even eliminate any risk, to deliver business target.
b) Embed quality awareness and develop quality knowledge, skills and capabilities to plant staff, by tracking, driving and achieving quality lagging indicators, actively applying 5 quality tools, e.g. APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA, and SPC.
c) Drive RCA effectiveness for quality incident, and drive, monitor follow up actions to be implemented timely.
9. Quality management system certification and maintaining
a) Be in charge of plant IATF16949 & ISO 9001 certification and regular surveillance audits.
b) To work out plant quality management system yearly internal audit plan and implement the plan.
c) Be in charge of OEM audit coordination and actions following up from audit process as per IATF 16949 system and OEM customer specific requirements.
d) Be in charge of working out customer requested QMS related documents for bidding, potential supplier evaluation or PPAP documentations.
10. QC&Lab people management and development
a) Annual/quarterly performance review, motivating, coaching, and operating disciplinary if necessary.
b) Training plan and set up their career development plan.
11. E&C commitments
a) Following bp's value and Code of Conduct, internal &external compliance requirements by self.
b) Further more supervise, monitor your team members, timely intervention if necessary.
What you will need to be successful
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or related field
• Minimum 10 years QC experience in manufacturing operations including 5 years management position in a multinational business environment.
• Be familiar with ISO9001 and IATF16949, familiar with ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001 and OEM customer requirement (VDA 6.3, VQE, Formel Q, ...etc.) is preferred.
• Internal auditor certificate is preferred.
• Be familiar with quality tools such as 8D report, Fishbone diagram, 5why, etc.
• Be familiar with 5 core tools (APQP/PPAP/FMEA/MSA/SPC).
• Be familiar with Lubricant product knowledge.
• With strong logical and analytical ability.
• Excellent presentation & communication skills, able to deal with people at all levels.
• Good planning and organizing, problem solving and coaching skills.
• Familiar with quality control digitalization system such as LIMS.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Skilled computer operation.
• Good team spirit.
• Six Sigma Black Belt and Minitab knowledge is preferred.
• Project management ability such as PMP is preferred.
