This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities, scale, leveraging technology, and developing deep expertise. Let me tell you about the role

The Project Controls and Performance Lead, you will play a key support role for engineering teams by implementing and maintaining project controls systems and performance reporting with support of the hemisphere Project Controls analysts. You will collaborate closely with project managers, finance, and engineering stakeholders to report timely and accurate data, analysis, and performance metrics that enable effective project execution and financial management. Your work will help ensure that capital projects are tracked, reported, and completed on time and within budget, supporting the overall success of the engineering organization.

What you will deliver

  • Serve as the Lead for the Project Controls and Performance team to implement and maintain financial control systems and reporting processes.

  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, finance, procurement, and project teams to ensure alignment and timely execution of capital projects.

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly performance reporting for all PU engineering teams, including financial and execution metrics.

  • Manage the approval process for all capital projects and coordinate project setup upon funding sanction.

  • Support the development of the annual capital expenditure (Capex) plan, revised forecasts, and financial outlooks.

  • Monitor and report on project budgets to ensure accurate commitments, spending, and timely capitalization.

  • Lead financial analysis and justification efforts for large-scale projects in collaboration with project managers and finance leads.

  • Provide monthly and quarterly reconciliation and reporting of capital project spend execution.

  • Maintain Power BI tools and dashboards for forecasting and performance tracking.

  • Create custom reports and analyses based on project financials and performance data as needed.

  • Support project cost and schedule closeout activities and ensure proper capitalization.

  • Partner with and support Procurement, Project Managers, and plant resources in equipment tender processes as needed to support execution.

  • Ensure smooth issuance of purchase orders and resolve payment-related issues.

  • Maintain and update the contractor and engineering vendor master database.

  • Ensure rigorous application of change control processes and governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Finance (preferred) with 5–7 years of relevant experience in project controls, financial planning, or capital project execution.

  • Strong knowledge of project control principles including cost control, schedule control, estimating, and change management.

  • Familiarity with stage gate project execution processes, front-end loading (FEL), and capital project development methodologies.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively across engineering, finance, procurement, and global project teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting for capital projects.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as JDE or SAP, including project setup, budgeting, and procurement workflows.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis, dashboard creation, and performance tracking.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience working in diverse global environments, including Western and Eastern regions (Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia).
