About the role
The Lubricant Technologist, Technology Deployment liaises with other Lubricant Technology teams and relevant parties within the Castrol Lubricants META Performance Unit to provide customer support, deploy and help launch new lubricants, provide technical advocacy, quality assurance and support new business opportunities (including technical input to tenders). Depending on priorities and workload their specific responsibilities will vary and may be focused on certain markets and projects within META (eg Egypt) or across the META Region.
What you will deliver
- Deliver lubricant technical support to resolve customer issues, potentially including laboratory work/analysis and interpretation of analytical data and delivery of reports.
- Provide lubricant products and application advice and support with basic lubrication training to Castrol staff as needed.
- Provide input into new lubricant product development projects, support and monitor proof of performance tests
- Support Lubricants Senior Technologist with deployment of new lubricant products and formulations, identify and evaluate suitable finished goods for purchase.
- Support Lubricant Senior Technologist to deliver technical communications for new lubricant product launches using global materials, adapting where necessary or creating materials to meet local customers’ requirements, ensuring that technical benefits land in an impactful way with customers.
- Support resolution of local raw material shortages and quality incidents.
- Provide leadership on the integrity and management of lubricant technical data and quality assurance.
- Maintain technical knowledge of lubricant products, applications and external information as applicable to responsibilities.
What you will need to be successful
- University degree in a scientific field such as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Fluent in English, French, and Arabic
- Experience of lubricant product development and commercialization (deployment), quality assurance
- French and Arabic languages would be an advantage
- Demonstrate a collaborative approach to working and networking with subject matter experts
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in digitalization of data and reporting
This role requires 10% travel
