Role Overview
We are seeking a systems-savvy and analytical Procurement Category Management Analyst to support data-driven decision-making, procurement efficiency, and contract compliance across bp. This role is essential to enabling effective Category Management through experienced use of SAP Ariba Guided Buying and Contract Workspace.
Key Responsibilities
Spend Analysis & Reporting
Conduct in-depth analysis of procurement data to surface insights on spend patterns, category performance, and savings opportunities.
Leverage procurement data to identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement work. Where necessary, build presentations to influence team members and motivate change (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
Support Category Managers in developing annual Continuous Improvement plans and tracking progress against targets.
Procurement Efficiency & Process Optimization
Monitor and drive adoption of Guided Buying channels, seeing opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and improve user experience.
Collaborate with procurement operations to optimize catalogs, workflows, and system configurations in SAP Ariba.
Analyze purchasing behaviors to reduce off-contract spend and improve compliance with preferred suppliers.
Contract Compliance & Lifecycle Management
Track contract compliance using data from Ariba Contract Workspace, ensuring coverage, alignment with sourcing strategies, and timely renewals.
Support contract lifecycle activities including metadata accuracy, version control, and audit readiness.
Provide insights on contract utilization, risk areas, and performance against KPIs.
Cross-Functional Support
Partner with category leads, finance, and legal to align procurement activities with business and compliance requirements.
Provide analytical support for sourcing events, supplier performance reviews, and stakeholder communications.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
2–4 years of experience in procurement analytics, sourcing support, or category management.
Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba Guided Buying and Contract Workspace.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus
Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract lifecycle management.
Preferred:
Experience supporting procurement transformation or system adoption initiatives.
Familiarity with procurement policy frameworks, compliance tracking, and reporting.
