Summary:


BP's Compensation & Benefits team (C&B) plays a vital role in supporting BP’s strategic objectives by ensuring that compensation and benefits programs are designed to attract and retain the talent required to execute our business plans. The C&B team provides advice and guidance on all aspects of payroll and reward for employees across BP.
We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Tax Specialist who will be responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll taxes globally including handling relationships with external providers and advising internal collaborators. This role requires a strong understanding of global payroll processes and systems as well as experience working with multiple countries.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience in Accountancy or equivalent along with tried experience within a large multinational organization in a similar role. Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM or other major payroll platforms is critical while experience with Workday would also be beneficial. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely. You must have a proactive approach to problem solving, with good attention to detail and the ability to meet timelines.
You should have excellent analytical thinking and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additionally, you need to be highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Responsibilities:
• Respond to queries from various sources regarding payroll tax issues, including employee questions and manager requests.
• Maintain accurate records of payroll tax related data.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify potential solutions to complex payroll tax problems.
• Guarantee adherence with relevant legislation and regulations when addressing payroll tax issues.
• Provide support to senior staff members in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to payroll taxes.
• See opportunities for process improvements within the payroll tax function.
• Assist with training new staff members on payroll tax processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll tax services.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations for adapting internal processes accordingly.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred; Associates Degree with significant relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or human resources; additional experience in payroll taxes is advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to perform under tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Shown experience in providing support to senior leadership.
