Our Internships

Our summer internships are 10 weeks. You’ll be based in one team throughout your internship, working on real projects that you’ll be able to manage through to completion. Throughout you’ll have the support of a dedicated line manager and a buddy from one of our early careers programs. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to attend events and socials with other interns, take part in training sessions to help develop your interpersonal skills and network with leaders from across bp. The program is designed to help build your skills and technical knowledge whilst also allowing you to learn more about life at bp.

Role and Responsibilities


The Rotating Equipment discipline is crucial for maintaining the operation of rotating machinery at various sites. As a Rotating Equipment Engineering Intern, you will have a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop key skills for your future career with the company. You will be part of a team that supports bp’s AGT operating sites, with main responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering team in analyzing rotating equipment performance data.

  • Help identify issues and suggest improvements based on findings.

  • Assist in preparing reports on equipment status and maintenance activities.

  • Collaborate with maintenance teams during scheduled maintenance of rotating equipment.

  • Observe and learn about maintenance practices and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Participate in field surveys and inspections of rotating equipment.

  • Gather data and assist in analyzing the condition of equipment.

  • Conduct research on new technologies and methodologies related to rotating equipment.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies during all tasks.

  • Assist in identifying safety hazards and suggest improvements.

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines to support project goals.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project alignment.

  • Engage in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

  • Seek mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers to improve competencies.

As an intern, you will have the chance to familiarize yourself with bp’s engineering standards and practices, visit operating sites to enhance your operational knowledge, support self-verification efforts, and foster stronger relationships with site operations.

You will attend meetings with peers and bp employees, and at the end of your internship, you will prepare a presentation summarizing your experiences. It is essential that all actions taken during your internship comply with bp’s safety, ethics, and compliance requirements. This role is based in bp’s Baku office and may involve limited travel to offshore and onshore sites.

Requirements

  • Azerbaijani citizenship

  • Relevant bachelor’s and/or master’s degree

  • 2027 academic year graduates are eligible to apply

  • CGPA 75% (2.5)
