Engineering

Mechanical engineering

Mechanical engineering discipline supports our operations around the world. They work to ensure the integrity of mechanical equipment and / or the performance of machinery. For mechanical engineer, the main responsibility of assuring integrity can be adding new small equipment into existing facility or modifying existing assets..

Process engineering

Process & Process Safety Engineering (P&PSE) is involved throughout the lifecycle of major energy projects, from establishing the business case and concept for a new development, through optimisation, design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations. We also support developing the innovations that will ensure our future success. And most importantly, we must understand and mitigate the process safety risks arising from our operations.

Integrity management: pressure systems integrity (PSI) engineering

The pressure System Integrity engineer has the responsibility for assuring the integrity of topsides static mechanical equipment including pipework, pressure vessels and heat exchangers. PSI Engineer will ensure the activity from planning for inspection, inspection execution, and anomaly management are effectively managed to reduce the risk.

Instrument & control engineering

The instruments and protective systems role consist of three primary specialist areas including field instrumentation, safety instrumented systems (SIS), and fire and gas systems, all of these systems playing critical roles in safe and reliable operations, environment and personnel protection. It is the control & automation engineer’s job to optimise production and enhance safety by making improvements to process control, as well as designing and maintaining the distributed control systems that house these controls.

Electrical engineering

Responsible for electrical power system analysis & study, site operational technical support, electrical equipment reliability & maintenance, brownfield modification project, tie-in & integration with the new facilities. The electrical systems involve power generation, transformer, switchgear, UPS, electric motors, lighting & small power system, electric heat tracing, variable speed drives and HVAC.

Subsurface

Petroleum engineering

The match candidate is expected to learn and support Tangguh production management or depletion management squad team which will work under supervision of Experienced Petroleum Engineer in the team to ensure the real work experience on managing big gas producers in Tangguh field is obtained. It is expected that the selected candidate will learn from data surveillance, well performance evaluation, system modelling and optimization and well clean & testing (depend upon drilling schedule).

Reservoir engineering

As a Reservoir engineer (RE) intern, you will be part of the Subsurface organisation that sits under the Production & Operations business group. Our vision is to become an industry-leading hydrocarbons business and the engine room of our integrated energy company; we will do this by always putting safety first, reducing carbon emissions, improving efficiency, integrating across the value chain, and flexibly deploying talent to the solve the biggest issues.

Geophysics

Geophysics is concerned with the acquisition, processing, interpretation and analysis of seismic and other geophysical datasets (e.g. gravity-magnetic surveys) to create an image of the subsurface. Could you be the next geophysicist to join our team? Here at bp, the combination of geology and geophysics — as geosciences — delivers a powerful description and evaluation of the subsurface, growing our ability to safely deliver hydrocarbons and develop lower carbon energy sources.

Geology

Geology is concerned with the application of geological principles and techniques to characterise the Subsurface, describe uncertainty ranges, manage risk, and use large amounts of technical data to inform business decisions. At bp, our geoscientists use leading-edge technology to develop and deliver low emissions, sustainable energy solutions.

Petrophysics

At bp, our Petrophysicist’ s define the volume and distribution of oil and gas in our reservoirs as well as their flow characteristics. They investigate the quality of reservoir rocks such as their porosity, permeability and how reservoir fluids interact with the reservoir matrix.

HSE&C

HSE & Carbon

Health, safety, environment, and carbon (HSE and carbon) cares for and protects our people and planet from harm. HSE and carbon covers all businesses throughout bp from offshore production facilities, to wind and solar farms, global networks of retail sites, and many other exciting ventures.
