Group Treasury Operations & Liquidity Senior Manager

Within FBT, the Group Treasury Operations & Liquidity Management team is leading a change in the way bp views, manages, and optimises short term / mid-term cash and long-term financing by leading liquidity processes and supporting Treasury Leadership’s decision-making process.

The Group Treasury Centre Of Excellence won’t only take the processes as is but it is also responsible for implementing the standardised processes and improvements to drive value operating on our current systems – while we implement the new TMS as part of Treasury Digital Strategy.

The Group Treasury Operations & Liquidity Senior Manager is a direct contributor to bp’s group treasury & liquidity operations objectives, driving process subject area by ensuring efficient and effective execution of group treasury operations and cash forecasting processes, providing key treasury analytics to bp's management and the Financial Market Trading teams (FMT) who trade an average of $8bn of treasury flows a day.

In this role you will own the end-to-end operational delivery of Treasury trading back-office operations, payments operations as well as the liquidity and cash management (near-term and mid-term) processes in cooperation with the wider Treasury and Finance teams, our banking partners and local Cash & Banking/Finance teams.

In this role You will:

  • Oversee, retain and develop a team of first level leaders accountable for operating Group Treasury & Liquidity Operation activities while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures to deliver highly time-critical operations and compliance.
  • Own and manage end-to-end Group Treasury Operations and liquidity (GTO) processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and market compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee Treasury Trade and Treasury Settlement operations
  • Oversee Liquidity & Cash forecasting operations and lead analytical insight into bp’s cash and currency profiles and oversee and interpret stress testing scenarios to mitigate the group’s liquidity risk and provide updates to the GFRC (Group Financial Risk Committee).
  • Partner seamlessly with Treasury Trading to manage liquidity risk, ensure efficient management of BP cash and manage bp’s FX exposure.
  • Leading communication and coordination in case any Group Treasury BCP disruptions/ major incident and own the end to end GTO crisis and continuity management plans.
  • Lead bp's Bank Account management team, Group Treasury Global Security officer team
  • Lead the maintenance of static data management (treasury trade and in-house banking)
  • Support audit and regulatory reporting requirements related to treasury transactions.
  • Own GTO organizational and people capability framework to recruit, retain and develop own teams
  • Plan, organize and lead your own GTO initiatives with strategic value and impact on group treasury operations processes, especially reducing workload and generating efficiency.
  • Drive the people, support and system strategies as part of the wider Treasury Digital Strategy
  • Represent BP Group Treasury internally and externally and keep up to date with Corporate Treasury and Banking Regulatory and Compliance landscape (e.g. ISO20022) and professional bodies like the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
  • As a member of the extended leadership team of FBT ST&S Procurement Operations, to active role model to support our objectives on BP Strategic framework, FBT culture and mindset as well as BP’s purpose and beliefs.

What You will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or another quantitative field experience
  • Fluency in English, other European languages could be an advantage
  • Solid leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of wide range business operations and connections of Treasury Operation related IT systems.
  • Significant experience in Corporate Treasury functions with treasury trading, understanding of in-house banking model and in-house cash pooling models.
  • Understanding of financial instruments (e.g. Swaps, Forwards, Commercial paper, Working Capital Structures) and FX and Money Markets
  • Experience in operational process improvement
  • Able to prioritize under pressure and multi-task
  • Strong stakeholder management both internally and externally
  • Excellent problem-solving capability
