Job Description:

Role Synopsis

The specialist will play a key role in identifying and helping execute commercial strategy for the European Naphtha book as well as playing a crucial role linking the global Naphtha books. This specialist will be in tune with all cash and paper markets GLIGHTS participates in and help identify commercial opportunities.

They will be responsible for challenging the Naphtha balances, assessing competitor positions, identifying and proposing trade strategies and providing a check to the frontline traders on risk / reward balance, opportunities potentially overlooked or new trade strategies to consider.

The specialist will interface with US and Eastern traders to support development of the global Naphtha strategy and support its implementation.

Key accountabilities

· Support the Naphtha EU book lead and global pillar lead in establishing the Naphtha trading strategy, identifying resources and

processes required for success

· Cement best practice ways of working between Trading and Analytics and across regions

· Lead implementation of ways of working improvements as a result of the strategy work

· Robustly challenge balance calls to ensure traders are confident in their view and are taking a measured approach to risk vs

reward.

· Develop and mentor junior Naphtha traders in the tea

Essential education

Bachelor's degree is required

Essential experience and job requirements

· Strong preference to have prior Naphtha trading experience and strong commercial skills

· Deep understanding of the analytics and trader ways of working and balance builds

· Demonstrate a strong bias for action, take initiative towards continuous Improvement.

· Ability to work under pressure, managing competing priorities accurately and timely.

· Strong analytical skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

Desirable criteria

· Experience with Front Office Trading terms and activities.

· Prior experience working in bp and GLights trading
