You will serve as the tactical focal point for response-related matters, dedicated to ensuring that the Egypt and Libya Region team is prepared to respond to any emergency incident. The role will drive excellence within the Crisis & Continuity Management (CCM) and Emergency Response (ER) fields by building organizational capability to respond to incidents, ensuring conformance with BP group-defined practices for response, and safeguarding understanding and compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will enhance business resilience and continuity by encouraging the development of business continuity plans. It is a pivotal component of a dynamic and highly motivated team working to ensure that the region is response-ready for production operations commencement and beyond.
In this role you will (be):
- Ensure regulatory compliance for offshore and onshore emergency response teams, aligning with BP requirements.
- Provide tactical and technical support to Emergency Response Teams (ERTs), Tactical Response Teams (TRTs), and Incident Management Team (IMT) response personnel.
- Develop a robust "care for people" response capability that integrates with "out of region" response capabilities.
- Design and complete training and exercise programs for ERT, TRT, IMT, and Business Response Team (BRT).
- Craft and maintain tidy and efficient Incident Management Room (IMR) facilities across Egypt.
- Manage the rota for the on-call IMT.
- Support CCM documentation management and control processes.
- Develop third-party emergency response bridging and interface documents, and lead the development and delivery of tabletop exercises to test interfaces and primacy arrangements.
- Maintain the readiness of Oil Spill Response equipment.
Additional Support:
- Implement robust end-to-end accounting for people mechanisms and processes.
- As part of the CCM team, support the IMT and BRT in incident management and participate in the CCM Adviser "on-call" rota.
- Support Business Continuity Management (BCM) impact analysis and response planning.
You will need to be successful in:
- Proficiency in English and Arabic
- BSc / MSc degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an emergency, incident, or crisis response-related role.
- Proven competency/experience in tactical response, emergency response matters
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with influencing skills.
- Skillful stakeholder management- ability to put yourself in others’ shoes, understand their drivers and plan tactically to achieve positive outcomes for both parties
- Strong willingness to learn and develop in this role
- Practical and theoretical training development and delivery experience, ideally with familiarity in virtual delivery and competency management frameworks.
- Experience in developing emergency response documentation such as Emergency Response Plans, Emergency Response Bridging Documents, and Tactical Response documentation.
- Familiarity with working and aligning with regulatory frameworks.
