This role ensures the effective execution of the production materials coordination and warehousing strategy, supporting MM&D Functional requirements. It supports safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient Warehousing and Material Coordination services, driving a culture of continuous improvement through OMS and fact-based KPIs. The role oversees contracted Service Providers, ensuring compliance with contracts and reducing operational risk.

The Materials Demand Planning and Coordination (MPC) team collaborates with Line stakeholders and planners to compile material demands for ongoing maintenance, TAR and project activities. They work closely with procurement teams, freight forwarding, warehousing, and quality management to ensure timely and accurate support. They ensure compliance with OMS, MMcp, and established material planning processes, and participate in the development of region-specific guidelines for the Materials Planning and Coordination function.

What you will deliver

  • Lead by example and ensure that all warehousing operations and activities comply with all BP HSSE and other regulatory requirements both on and offshore whilst delivering the MM Regional Risk Action Plan.

  • Ensure compliance with BP Material Management Policy and all other relevant policies and procedures as they relate to warehousing.

  • Work with Service Providers & Internal Stakeholders to optimise and deliver safe custody and preservation of materials stored in warehouse and storage yard areas.

  • Work with the platform material co-ordinators to ensure competence and that they are effectively meeting the requirements of their respective platforms.

  • Achieve the optimal balance of risk, service level and cost for the warehouse operation.

  • Coordinate with the Inventory Management Lead to ensure that inventory counts are carried out as required by processes and standards.

  • Embed continuous improvement culture within Warehousing operations, supporting and leading projects where appropriate.

  • Responsible for accident and incident reporting as prescribed for the MM&D sub-function and Region. Accountable to ensure follow through and completion of all agreed preventive and mitigating actions.

  • Provide input for the annual budget plan and monitor warehousing cost during the year.

  • In coordination with the Inventory Management Lead, ensure that cyclical inventory counts are carried out as per the plan.

  • Understand and conform to demand planning and coordinating requirements

  • Provide input to respective Category Management and Operational Procurement Teams for effective demand management

  • Support the accuracy and integrity of the Master Data Management files in accordance with OMS 6.7.

  • Create a working environment that encourages high performance

  • Use reasonable care to monitor suppliers and contractors working for BP to ensure they work in a manner consistent with the BP Code of Conduct.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Materials Management and Warehousing, Industrial Distribution or Logistics.

  • Knowledge of Warehousing activities and other fundamental Logistics industry operational activities.

  • Skilled at managing through complexity and executing activities in multi-stakeholder, multi-discipline, multi-cultural environments, with regional and country-specific issues and challenges.

  • [5+ or 10+] years of experience in relevant Supply Chain Management areas and people/team management.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with individuals across multiple disciplines, cultures and geographies, across organizational boundaries and levels within BP and with suppliers

  • Understanding of the safety risks associated with Warehousing and Logistics and risk mitigation activities.

  • Working knowledge of systems such as Backbone SAP and software tools such as Excel, Access, etc.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous MM and/or Warehousing experience in multiple industries

  • Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain or Professional PSCM accreditation such as CPM, CIPS, APICS
