As a Senior Enterprise Technology Engineer, you will act as a digital expert, bringing deep specialist expertise to bp Enterprise Technology. You will work on strategic technology platforms sourced from the market or apply your skills in the implementation and integration of market solutions into the broader enterprise technology landscape.
You will draw on a broad base of digital technical knowledge and a strong understanding of modern software delivery principles. With Agile and DevOps at the core, you will be familiar with lifecycle methods and skilled in applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to ensure resilient delivery and smooth operations. Working as part of multi-disciplinary squads, you will collaborate to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.

Let me tell you about the role
As a Senior Enterprise Technology Engineer within the Identity and Access Management team, your responsibility will be to oversee the delivery and governance of the access security and compliance elements for core SAP ERP solutions, including ECC, S4HANA, HANA, SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Fiori, GRC, etc. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to articulate the vision for access control, along with the border roadmap and product strategy. Additionally, you will work with a team of highly skilled Enterprise Technology Engineers and Software Engineers to address pain points and develop scalable, secure, and dynamic access models across supporting bp applications. You will play a critical part in the company’s digital transformation efforts to drive operational security and efficiency. In addition, this role will require to support and delivering solutions within the bp IGA platform that includes access control, enterprise role design and recertification.
This is a hands-on, technical role where you will expand your expertise in identity, access, automation, and multi-cloud platforms. You will gain exposure to new technologies, automation frameworks, and advanced engineering practices while helping to solve complex challenges that drive bp’s digital transformation journey. Your work will improve operational security, efficiency, and innovation, enabling the enterprise to deliver value at scale and with confidence. confidence.

What you will deliver
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and refine Identity and Access Management governance for commonly used technologies, ensuring alignment with the Technical Reference Model.
  • Champion product adoption by driving consistent communication, advocating for the solution, and supporting the transition from role-based to policy-based access control.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends by building expertise in evolving technologies to help shape the future roadmap of access control.
  • Partner with the business to capture requirements, develop standards, and perform quality assurance to uphold robust security and sound development practices.
  • Contribute to the broader IAM ecosystem by aligning solution designs and deployment models for consistency and alignment across Identity and Access Management products.
  • Participate within the industry to understand the direction of Authorization Engineering at enterprise scale, highlighting challenges and proposing solutions to help the broader community.
What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale SAP ERP security deployment projects, with skills in project planning, prioritisation, and timeline management.
  • Proven success in ERP platform architecture, integration, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels—including IT, security, and business leaders—by translating technical details into clear, business-oriented language.
  • Strong collaborator who builds trust, shares expertise, and works seamlessly across teams.
  • Experience managing and mentoring direct reports, including graduates, to build future capability.
  • Diligent self-starter with strong conceptual, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, able to convey ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Interest in continuous learning and ability to upskill on new technologies to meet dynamic requirements.

Essential skills
  • SAP & ERP Expertise: Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, ERP security frameworks, and modern cloud-based ERP solutions.
  • Platform Architecture & Optimization: Proven experience in ERP platform architecture, system integration, and performance optimization at scale.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Deep understanding of cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and identity management within ERP environments.

Skills that set you apart
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • AWS / Azure certifications or other similar credentials.
