Job Description:

Role Summary:

The Operations Lead – Supply Base is accountable for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all supply base operations within the region. This role acts as the primary interface between logistics, contractors, marine operations, and internal focal point for drilling and production operation teams, ensuring operational demand is matched to available capacity while maintaining compliance with safety and performance standards.

The role includes responsibility for contractor performance management, budget delivery, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of cargo and Supply base processes. A key part of this role involves fostering collaboration across internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence and ensure delivery against key performance targets.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide day-to-day direction and prioritization of supply base activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
• Develop and implement the regional supply base strategic intent and operational plans.
• Serve as CAM (Contract Accountable Manager) and Job Representative for assigned contractors, ensuring SLAs are met.
• Deliver regional activities within defined plan & budgets.
• Identify and implement operational cost efficiencies through Industry Sharing with other IOC’s.
• Ensure strong contractor oversight and maintain performance management processes.
• Ensure adherence to IOGP Life Saving rules
• Oversight of vessel tank cleaning services
• Oversee the prioritization of supply base activities including bulk and cargo delivery ensuring a safe and efficient turnaround of company vessels

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and ensure conformance of bp operated and contractor-operated supply base sites.
• Manage contractor performance through PRMs, BRO duties (forecasting, monitoring actuals, PO/invoicing), and gap closure.
• Drive continuous improvement culture focused on risk reduction and efficiency gains.
• Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring effective root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Foster safety leadership principles, performance management, and development within the team.
• Ensure cargo priorities are clearly understood and executed by contracted operators.
• Monitor and analyze supply base KPIs and MI to identify improvement opportunities.
• Deliver key activities from the Functional Delivery and Safety Plans.
• Execute annual contractor oversight plans and monitor trends.
• Embed LMS (Logistics Management System) tools and processes into daily operations.
• Lead risk and HSE processes include reviews, emergent risk identification, and action tracking.
• Coordinate with central technical support to resolve complex issues.
• Implement and operationalize global supply base tools and systems.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline (e.g., Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations).
• Demonstrated experience in Drilling & Production operations to underpin decisions on operational priorities
• Proven experience in supply base operations management
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluids management
• Experience in risk management, strategy execution, budget management, and contractor oversight.
• Strong commercial and analytical capabilities.
• Proficient in risk tools (e.g., bowtie analysis) and LMS systems.
• Proficient in company cargo, vessel, offshore operations planning tool
• Knowledge of contracting lifecycle, supply base commercial models, and performance metrics.
• Excellent interpersonal and business facing stakeholder management skills.

  • Decides on optimal service requirements and regional supply base strategies.
  • Leads internal and contractor performance self-verification processes.
