Purpose of the role
As Senior Manager Midstream Infrastructure, you will lead the team responsible for the safety & operational risk, infrastructure reliability and compliance, commercial performance, and project delivery for all bp owned, joint venture operated, and third-party operated terminals, pipelines, and depots in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
The ANZ Midstream infrastructure portfolio comprises a network of bp owned joint venture operated terminals, joint industry terminals, third-party terminal operated terminals, and bp owned depots. The safe, reliable, and competitive operation of these facilities is critical to the success of bp’s integrated supply chain and sales businesses in ANZ.
This role is a safety core role, leading and influencing safety performance of our contractors and partners via bp’s safety leadership principles and effective external stakeholder management. The role is also accountable for the asset risks associated with the bp owned and maintained depots in Australia.
Commercial accountabilities include the planning, forecasting, cost management, and performance improvement of the ANZ terminals operations, maintenance, and projects budgets to meet bp’s supply chain needs. With a growing program of commercial growth projects, the role is also integral in supporting the delivery of major investment projects being conducted at bp terminals across ANZ.
Key Accountabilities
Zero fatalities and life changing injuries, guided by IOGP Life Saving Rules
Zero Tier 1 and Tier 2 process safety event, guided by IOGP Process Safety Fundamentals
Risk management via bp exposure risk management process and site assurance activities
Compliance with bp & regulatory requirements
Embed a consistent safety culture across all that we do, guided by bp’s Safety Leadership Principles
Efficient operations and fit for purpose asset management that supports a sustainable ANZ business.
Prioritised activities and investment aligned with portfolio strategy.
Competitive storage & handling costs to enable the bp trading, supply, aviation, marine, and sales businesses to retain and win customers in ANZ.
Reliable midstream infrastructure, maximizing asset availability through proactive planning of asset outages in alignment with commercial growth strategies.
Engage with bp stakeholders and JV terminal operations teams to understand capacity and leverage existing assets for growth opportunities.
Work with JV partners to assess infrastructure and operational needs for new business opportunities.
Predictable delivery of growth investment with appropriate governance of growth projects to deliver business expectations.
Essential Skills and Experience
Deep and demonstrated experience in projects, engineering, and operations within the oil and gas industry, particularly terminal and pipeline operations.
Proven expertise in safety and operational risk management, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Experience in portfolio management, including planning and executing projects and maintenance activities.
Strong skills in stakeholder management and influencing with experience engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage joint ventures and/or third-party suppliers to drive strong performance and delivery.
Proven ability to influence beyond direct lines of authority and navigate complex cross-functional organizations.
Understanding and experience in the fuel supply chain and value capture through infrastructure asset optimisation.
