The role of this position is to strengthen the company presence, sales and profitability, to meet the financial and strategic objectives of Mexico lubricants business.
The activities conducted in the role must be in accordance with the Global strategies and country growth strategy.
This role demands strong connectivity with the sales team and an unrelenting pursuit of high levels of customer focus and service.
Key Accountabilities:
- Drive performance delivery of the entire Castrol portfolio in all automotive sales channels (North and Central Distributors and IWS), including achievement of volume, turnover and GM cpl target, as well as channel product mix improvement and market share objectives.
- Responsible for the Trade Marketing activation calendar PCO, MCO and CVO development & implementation, focusing on strengthening the company’s market presence and profitability across all channels principally Retail to meet the financial and strategic business objectives.
- Responsible for development & activation annual calendar for the Castrol branded workshop network (CAS & CMS), focusing on growing company’s presence, visibility and profitability in IWS channel to meet the financial and strategic objectives of Mexico lubricants business. Close performance monitoring together with DBMs.
- Work closely with PU Brands & Comms Manager and Sales Managers in the development, deployment and achievement of the annual plans. Ongoing liaison and engagement with the Sales team, DSRs, Distributors and customers to ensure collective ownership of strategy and activation plans with effective implementation.
- Turn deep research-based, consumer and customer insights into winning strategies, marketing programs and effective Customer Value Propositions/ offers specially for Retail. Oversee offers execution through the Sales team and third-party agencies where appropriate. Monitor sales performance by distributor/ key brands/ regions/ channels and make revisions as necessary to achieve planned outcomes.
- Ensure and monitor effective use of ASP investment for Trade Marketing to grow in ASR and Mechanics awareness alignment with Sales and always considering return on investment. Responsible for supervising budget vs real implementation of ASP investments related to customers and sales activities within Marketing.
- Actively participate in S&OP meetings and business discussions, analyzing key indicators by brand/ distributors/ regions and providing relevant inputs and recommendations to achieve business targets and customer support.
- Contribute to the development of Sales business plans with focus in ASR´s, Retail and IWS growth and key customers, considering all route-to-market. Be a champion for developing strong channel and customer orientation and flawless execution at POS.
- Provide support to training platforms and incentives to sales and mechanics, specially related to trade marketing pillars, sales strategies etc
- Manage & implement trade/ customer fairs and events according to plan
- Responsible for PCO and MCO portfolio product, labels and streamlines
- Responsible for Monthly performance reports and presentations
- Responsible for tracking promotions and KPI´s
- Act as a role model, particularly regarding values and behaviours, Leadership Expectations.
Education:
- University level education (Bachelor’s degree) required.
- MBA or equivalent business school degree is desirable but not required.
Experience:
- 5+ years experience in Trade/Channel/ Sales management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven understanding of B2B and B2C issues and perspectives with a track record of developing powerful consumer and customer offers based on insights, trends and consumer/customer needs.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful channel strategies that resulted in significantly accelerated, “step-changed” growth.
- Demonstrated ability to influence Sales team in meeting strategic objectives whilst delivering sustainable, in-year performance.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead customer negotiations.
- This position requires a strong level of independent thinking and problem solving within a very dynamic and challenging marketing environment.
