Job Description:

bp continue to drive technical strategy and roadmap for our Digital Platforms.

This role will be at the forefront of the company's efforts to implement pioneering technologies, enhanced automations and integrations that allow our platforms to seamlessly work together, driving performance and productivity into our Business Teams.

Role Overview:

As the Lead Technical Architect for the Digital Workplace Integration team, you will oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of system integrations supporting our global Digital Workplace platforms. These include Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Azure platforms. The technology solutions you integrate must be secure, compliant, performant, and aligned with business requirements specific to each platform. This makes for a broad spectrum of integrated solutions that you will need to govern.

Working closely with your Agile team of engineers and subject matter experts on an ever changing pipeline of work, and in conjunction with our Digital Workplace Platform team leads, you will liaise with other central Digital Teams, People Management or Sales focussed platform leads and architects to match the needs of Business process flows to streamline and optimise using the available Technical integration options. You will be pivotal in ensuring that any technology or process developed and deployed is reliable, scalable, and integrates seamlessly with other technologies within the organization.

Strategy and Roadmap:

bp's technical strategy aims to continue transition from small, customized vendor solutions to integrated, strategic multi-purpose platforms. Inevitably, there are integration needs between these platforms and your Team within Digital Workplace cover those.
Key activities include future-proofing the technical roadmap, supporting proof of concept and minimum viable product for new or existing Digital Workplace technologies, scaling up plans, and addressing existing technical debt to simplify and strengthen the technical portfolio.

You will build repeatable Integration patterns aligned to bp central architecture that allow us to be agile and continuously improve our estate of integrations.

You will be adept at simplifying complex technical language and concepts, ensuring that business partners who are not IT-focused can clearly articulate their requirements as well as understand and align with Digital Workplace technology strategies and implementations.

As the Lead Digital Workplace Integration Architect, your accountabilities will include:

  • Team: You directly influence product, process and service automation design. You are the lead architect and design authority driving scalable and performant software, and even sometimes hardware implementations and integrations using modern technologies and approaches. You will not just lead, but you will "do". Our culture is exploring, thinking and doing, and you will live this every single day.

  • Architecture: Like most large enterprises, some elements of our platform portfolio contain the most sophisticated technologies readily available. Other elements represent legacy investments. You will develop Digital Workplace Integration strategy, reference architectures, and roadmaps that will enable us to continually evolve and innovate our services.

  • Relationships: You will understand the business drivers, challenges and emerging use cases that will influence our network and site strategies and trigger change in network products and capabilities.
You will continuously scan the external market for relevant technologies, and you will recommend and introduce those technologies at scale and with pace.
In addition to technical competency, you will collaborate with other architects and partners in adjacent teams, to collect requirements and build them into future product releases.

  • Technology: You have a passion for learning and leading by example, and enjoy designing and building automated, and secure integrations.
You possess broad knowledge of Software Development and Integration products, Azure (and preferably AWS) technologies, solutions and vendors and an ability to rapidly adapt new technologies to enhance and optimize services. With an eye on the future, you will help construct bp’s NextGen of intelligent Agentic automations.

  • Safety and Compliance: You will advocate and help ensure our architectures, designs and processes enhance a culture of operational safety and improve our digital security.

  • Strategic Integration Planning

Collaborate with partners across various groups to understand Integration requirements, assess current capabilities, and resolve future needs.

Develop strategic plans for scalable, secure, and robust architectures that support the diverse needs of a global organization.

You will work with other Digital Architects to ensure Generative AI Agentic Frameworks and capabilities are included in design and integration when useful to do so.

  • Design & Deployment

Design global voice infrastructure solutions, ensuring they are resilient, scalable, and aligned with industry and company standards.

Employ Cloud-First and Zero-trust methodologies

Coordinate the deployment of new Digital Workplace systems and upgrades to existing infrastructure.

  • Performance & Quality

Design for Data Driven decision making first solution

Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability and minimal disruption.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate solution quality, reduce latency, and enhance the end-user experience.

  • Security & Compliance

Ensure that all Digital Workplace integration components are secure, aligned with data privacy laws, and protected against potential threats.

Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to establish standard methodologies and regular audits.

  • Vendor Management & Procurement

Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors where required, ensuring that the organization gets the best value and highest quality services and products.

Lead all aspects of procurement processes related to Digital Workplace Integration technologies.

  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

Maintain comprehensive documentation for all voice and site related infrastructure components.

Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
