Key Accountabilities:
Support Biofuels projects from origination to execution:
- Conduct economic evaluation for new business opportunities around bp’s assets as well as with 3rd parties
- Build and lead economic models for both bp internal and external purpose with partners
- Lead aggregation of key assumptions and ensure alignment across technical and commercial teams involved
- Lead and share insightful analysis of new value chains and sources of value
- Lead for preparing materials for select external meetings and governance as appropriate: -
- Support partner engagement and negotiations as well as due diligence and other engagement activities with third parties for the development of new business models
- Contribute to developing engagement plans and deal structures
- Build strong relationships and defend bp’s interest with commercial partners
- Lead for updating regional activities for Global Portfolio efforts
- Contribute to the governance of internal meetings and projects according to bp standards
- Facilitate effectively all internal regional team meetings
- Develop the economic & strategic case for bp to invest or participate in any other way, with focus on integration benefits and differentiating factors vs. competitors as well as value drivers for bp
- Work closely with the Commercial Project Lead to manage the progress of supported business cases into fully fledged projects through the CVP stages
- Compile non-technical (including legislative, regulatory, reputational, political and social) risks, and the development of appropriate mitigations for region
- Align & consult with peers within the team and bp group and share best practise & learnings
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across bp in an agile way or jointly with partners
Requirements:
- Formal qualifications constituting university degrees, examination certificates that confirm a level of educational attainment or licenses.
- Self-starter, pro-active and commercial value driven person
- Proficient in financial analysis and economic modelling. Experience building commercial models to demonstrate sources of value, monetization mechanisms and revenues with changing regulatory drivers
- Track record of thriving in a highly ambiguous environment and ability to quickly synthesize implications to bp, markets and provide insightful recommendations
- Strong translator of market dynamics and impacts to mid-to-long-term Biofuels
- Mastery of Excel models and Power Point presentations with ability to succinctly communicate findings to wide ranging audience including senior leaders
- Strong fluency in Power BI including capacity to learn and apply new digital tools
- Ability to build strong, enduring relationships across the business and with third parties
- Ability to grasp low carbon policies and interactions respective to each region
- Ability to translate market dynamics and impacts to mid to long term strategy
- Experience within the Bioenergy industry or knowledge of existing and emerging bio and renewable technologies and their practical application in a business context
- Experience in refining, trading and midstream
- Ability to infer bp strategy and translate to actionable steps
- Commercial development experience within Fuels, Petrochemicals or ST&S
- Good understanding of the integrated energy value chain
- Understanding of low carbon policy or advocacy across regions
- Strong history of presenting effectively to wide range of audiences including senior stakeholders
