As an Enterprise Technology Engineer - Sustainability, we provide technology expertise and deliver enterprise scale solutions across our business. We bring deep technical specialism in the technologies and platforms which are the center of our Digital business, and delivery expertise in the integration and operation of technologies from the global technology market.

The team works both at the core of bp, and within our businesses to unlock value from technology. We develop, configure and operate our solutions to global scale to meet evolving needs of the Energy Transition.

What you will deliver

  • Lead all aspects of the day-to-day operations, performance, and lifecycle of the application.

  • Ensure stability, availability, and scalability of the platform to meet the business needs.

  • Supports the Team, Business Stakeholders and Product Managers to validate business requirements then to drive common process and functional solutions globally.

  • Supports the Business Stakeholders in developing value case for capital funding requests.

  • Collaborate with internal team members (e.g., Sustainability, Finance, Digital Security, Branding) to capture, clarify, and translate the requirements into actionable technical solutions.

  • Act as the central liaison between the business, delivery partners, and vendors.

  • Handle vendor performance, coordinate change requests, and ensure timely delivery of services.

  • Participate in procurement processes, including RFPs and contract reviews where needed.

  • Ensure the application meets regulatory and bp compliance standards, particularly for carbon reporting.

  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, including transition risks during vendor changes.

  • Support reporting and insights generation to aid decision-making and compliance needs.

  • Support organizational change activities related to the application rollout, user onboarding, and communications.

  • Provide and supporting the user training, documentation, and partner updates.

What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)

  • 5+ years of experience in digital product/application management, preferably in sustainability, compliance, or data-driven platforms.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with multi-functional teams and third-party vendors to deliver impactful outcomes.

  • Well-versed in agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks.

  • Knowledge of Regulatory Carbon Reporting Requirement such as GHG Protocol, EU EST, or other sustainability frameworks - sustainability reporting, or ESG-related systems is a strong advantage.

  • Proficient in cloud-based platforms and web technologies (e.g., React, APIs) is highly desirable.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage optimally with diverse internal and external partners.

  • Adept at translating business needs into clear technical requirements—and vice versa.

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities, timelines, and risks with structure, clarity, and transparency.

  • Experienced in governance frameworks, including compliance and regulatory standards.

  • Proactive and passionate about driving sustainability and digital transformation through innovative solutions.

  • Good in both independently and within collaborative, team-oriented environments.
