We are currently looking for Manager (Engineering & Projects) based at Paharpur and details mentioned:

Job Synopsis: The Engineering Manager position in the plant reports to Plant Manager. The incumbent provides support to the Operations Team and plays a key role in the plant.

The dimension includes:

  • Planning projects and looking after the maintenance of the Engineering Department.

  • Designing and managing equipment used to control and monitor processes, systems and machinery of the plant.

  • Supporting products and meeting the requirements of the plant.

  • Ensuring that the work is done in an organized, reliable and systematic manner as per the specifications of the plant.

  • Supports engineering projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques, conducting tests and inspections, preparing reports and calculations

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive plant maintenance activities complying BP standards

  • Drive capex projects for the site.

  • Planning and Ensures completing preventive maintenance, Predictive maintenance, calibration and statutory inspections as per plan.

  • Maintaining equipment data / history card, tracking down the breakdowns, conducting root cause analysis for major breakdowns and taking corrective / preventive actions

  • Conducting weekly/ Daily planning meetings to comply safety requirements

  • Ensures 100% timely compliance to legal requirements/ inspections

  • Maintaining the subject area at the shop floor level.

  • Work with other departments in the plant to ensure smooth working of the pant.

  • Adhering and implementing safety and quality standards of the plant

  • To achieve adequate operation, maintenance and performance of the equipment

  • Provide technical assistance for other departments as well as for his group.

  • Maintaining the site facilities i.e. power, water, air conditioning etc

  • Implement new and improved ideas for better performance of plant equipment.

  • Maintenance of static and rotating equipment like blenders, pumps, utility equipment, tanks, filling line machines, SCADA system, process instrumentation, tank level control systems, pigging controls and instrumentation and safety critical equipments etc as per plan

  • Working collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers and other internal staff

  • Collaborating closely with suppliers& contractors.

  • Project management within cost and time constrained environments

  • In depth knowledge in assessing & analyzing P&ID, PFDs

  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety, regulations in which work is undertaken.

  • Knowledge about new maintenance practices

  • Improve equipment reliability by small improvements

  • Providing advice and support to technicians and contractors

  • Purchasing equipment and spares

  • Understanding of spare part management system

  • Generate monthly MIS and maintain documents

  • Developing new business proposals

  • Performance bias - Focuses effort and prioritizes work to deliver exceptional business value.

  • Partnership and Collaboration - Actively engages and respects the diverse contributions of team, partners or networks and seeks know-how & best practice, related to own area.

  • Business awareness- Demonstrates understanding of internal and external customer needs

  • Act as BP Job Representative for the contracts. Liaise and communicate with the Contractor’s Job Representative over fulfilment of responsibilities detailed within the contract, verify that hazards are identified, and controls are implemented, and conduct inspections & audits of the contract work

  • Align with the international quality and ISO 9000, 14000 & 45000 requirements

  • Act as BP Job Representative for Routine Maintenance contracts URCs & AMC etc.

  • Liaise and connect with the Contractor’s Job Representative over fulfilment of responsibilities detailed within the contract, verify that hazards are identified, and controls are implemented, and conduct inspections & audits of the contract work.

  • Ensure that all procedures falling under the ownership of this role are maintained and reviewed on the agreed frequency, kept up-to-date, and changes documented and reflected in OMS ONLINE as appropriate.

  • Communicate any changes to the procedures that may impact understanding to the affected workforce.

  • Act as response team member for crisis / continuity management, with accountabilities consistent with relevant response plans and as assigned by the response team leader.

  • Act as Planner under CoW to develop and coordinate plans/schedules for plant consisting of planned maintenance, inspection and project work.

  • Act as Area Authority under CoW and be the central figure in the CoW process in the designated area of responsibility. Approve weekly/daily schedule, participate in work permit development, risk assessment, identifying required certificated, isolation plan for energy isolation.

  • Act as Performing Authority under CoW being the person responsible for executing the task, or for the team executing the task at the work site. Work closely with planner, conduct task risk assessment and last-minute risk assessment. Accept work permit, securing isolations by applying PA Locks, monitor work crew for safe execution of task

  • Act as Isolating Authority for both electrical & process isolating authority under CoW.

  • Ensure Critical spare parts are maintained as per inventory requirement and ensure no breakdowns due to non- availability of spare parts

  • Supporting commercial aspects of engineering function such as Vendor development, PO preparation, processing invoice, follow up for payment etc.,

  • Supporting in execution of capex jobs

  • Commercial Compliance:

  • Ensuring adherence to NPR Policy

  • Timely agreement and PO creation

  • Ensures bills are processed and payment is released as per agreed SLA with the Suppliers/Vendors/ Service providers

Others:

  • Support in HSSE, TQM, IATF, ISO 14001 & ISO 9001:2008 and OSHAS 18001 requirements

  • Act as response team member for crisis / continuity management, with accountabilities consistent with relevant response plans and as assigned by the response team leader

  • This is an Individual contributor role supported by shared contingent resource for HR and Admin.

Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate with Engineering background in Mechatronics/ Instrumentation Engineering.

Experience and job requirements:

  • Min 4-6 years of experience in a Chemical/ FMCG industry

  • The role must lead engineering as per the requirement / coordinating with plant operators / workmen / engineering technicians

  • Knowledge of blend plants/ SCADA or DCS system will be an advantage and expertise in

  • Maintenance of utility & process equipment.

  • Energy conservation.

  • Spares management

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Minimum Graduate with 4-6 years of experience in Plant Engineering/ plant Maintenance/ Capex implementation/ brown field capex

  • Interpersonal/networking skills

  • Must be able to evaluate options and arrive at optimum solution with available information

  • Must focus efforts and prioritize work to deliver business goals

  • Sensitive to new ways of working and differences across various functions and streams.
